Batman v Superman is finally opening and we’ve got the box office predictions right now on Clevver Newsfeed! Can Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice take down Furious 7 as the biggest pre-summer opening ever? Early word of mouth appears to be positive for the launch of DC’s Extended Universe and the film has its eye set on breaking the record for biggest pre-summer release and biggest Easter opening ever. Current domestic projections have Batman v Superman opening around $150 million for the three day weekend putting it easily in the running to beat The Hunger Games’ $152.5 million pre-summer record and Furious 7’s $147.1 million Easter record. With advanced tickets sales already around $25 million, some are even predicting the film could open closer to $200 million, which would be far from Star Wars: The Force Awakens $248 million record, but could put it in line with Avengers: Age of Ultron’s opening last year. On the global front, Dawn of Justice is projected to bring in an estimated $350 million during its opening weekend which would bring it far short of the pre-summer and Easter global opening records currently held by Furious 7 with $397.7 million. The all-time record holder is of course The Force Awakens with $528 million. Regardless of whether or not the film beats the opening weekend global record, early reactions suggest Warner Brothers should have a major hit on its hand and with little competition should easily hold the top spot for at least the next couple weekends, but what do you think? Does Batman v Superman have a chance at beating Furious 7’s record and how much do you think it will make in its opening weekend? Share your predictions in the comments and then click here to find out what some of the film’s stars were up to before they were famous. I’m Misty Kingma, thanks for watching and we’ll see you soon with more movie news!
